What I want to share with you here is nothing new; just a reminder that we all need occasionally.

Words are powerful and can determine how we feel throughout the day.  With a little practice, we can learn to CHOOSE our words carefully and therefore choose how we FEEL throughout the day.

Our goal is to feel good, right?  When we feel good everything seems to go our way.

When is the last time you made a mistake and then said, “I’m so stupid!” or “I am such a dunce!”?

How did that make you feel?

When was the last you said, “I have never been good at doing that.”

How did that make you feel?

What if instead you consciously chose to say, “Oops, I’ll correct that right way” or “I would like to learn to do that.”

See the difference?

Here’s another example…

We go through our day saying to our children and others, “Don’t forget to brush your teeth” or “Don’t forget to pick up the dry cleaning.”

What if instead you said, “Remember to brush your teeth” or “Please remember to pick up the dry cleaning.”

How much better does that feel to you?  And how much better do you think that feels to others?

There are many negative words we are so accustomed to saying…

can’t, never, impossible, idiot, stupid… you know the list!

I invite you to pay attention to the words you use and CHOOSE to change them WITHOUT judging yourself.  Just choose in any moment to make a better choice.  simple.

The words we choose can really make a difference in how we feel AND by choosing our words carefully we can make a difference in how those around us feel.
